My favorite social media is definitely Instagram. I have spent a lot of time building up my follower to following ratio and it took a lot of strategic 'gramming to become the Instagrammer today. I enjoy the challenge of picking the best filter for the picture because it's never the same for any two pictures. Although time consuming, I will spend hours tweaking the picture until it is just right. 

It is also important to pick the best time to post to make sure your like game is strong. For example, posting at 3 am is not prime time because not very many people are awake. They say a magician should never reveal their secrets, but the prime Insta is from 8-10 on weekdays, and 9-11 on weekends. I am sharing that information with you because I want you to succeed in the Insta world. 

The caption creation is another reason I enjoy Instagram. I really stretch my mind in making clever and touching captions, depending on the feeling I am trying to evoke on my followers. There are several I am very proud of and if you would like to view them, you can follow me: ejchavez.

I also like the feeling you get when the little orange heart starts popping up on the screen of your iPhone. It builds your self-esteem and makes you think to yourself, "Wow, my filter and caption were great!". Instagram is not a game, it is not a website. It is a way of life. I hope everyone finds something that gives them as much joy as Instagram brings me.

1. What is your favorite genre of music and what aspects of it are enjoyable for you to listen to?
2. What is your favorite part of night UK games? Why?
3. What is your favorite filter to use on pictures? Why? Does it impact your like game on instagram?

I personally enjoy night UK games a lot more than games during the day for many reasons. During the day, if you have to use the restroom, you have the port-a-potty as your only option, whereas at night you can find a convenient bush so that you don't have to contaminate your lungs with the ratchet smell of others' urine and fecal matter. With this option, you also eliminate the chance of dropping your cellular device into the port-a-potty (yes it happens very often). Night games are generally colder due to the dropping of temperatures around 6pm, and also due to the transition from summer to autumn, which means you find a bae and curl up together to stay warm. "Cuff season" is synonymous to autumn, so this works out perfectly. If you ever get hungry, it's exceedingly easier to find food at random tailgates at night than it is during the day because less people will see you, so you have more time to scout out the good food options. Be careful, though, because sometimes what you think is cookies may in fact be raw hamburger meat. Every once in a while, cops will come to your tailgate on bikes, so you must run as fast and as far as you can with a random squad, and it's a fun adventure for the night and a great story to tell in the morning. For these reasons, night UK games have a special place in my heart.

- What is a hobby of yours and why do you like to do it?

Music has forever been a major part of my life and it's hard for me to choose one artist, but at this moment in time my favorite band is 5 Seconds of Summer. No, it's not because they're hot teenage guys from Australia, although that is a plus. I genuinely like their music and I think that they are staying true to themselves, which is hard to do in today's society even if you aren't a celebrity. The guys in 5 Seconds of Summer act like any other guys their age, just being goofy and having fun with everything. They are constantly tweeting, posting on instagram, and making videos on an app called keek to make sure their fans are always connected in some way, they even have a tumblr. Besides being awesome guys in general, their music's also really good. If you only look up a couple of their songs I highly recommend Over and Over and End Up Here. Also, they're not a boy band. One Direction is a boy band because they don't play their own instruments and only write on some of their songs. 5 Seconds of Summer plays all their own instruments and collaborate with people and write ALL of their songs (along with help from professionals sometimes).

1. If you could have a personal concert, what band/singer would you have? Who would you invite? Do you think it would be awesome or just awkward having a concert where only you and the people you invited were in attendance? Why?

2. Why do we experience pain (physically or emotionally)? Is pain something that has to be part of our lives? Does the ability to feel pain make us more human? Does pain show weakness and is this a good or bad thing?

3. If one of your friends were to become famous, which one would it be? What would he/she be famous for? What about your friend makes him/her be most likely to become famous?

I think my friend Ashley would be the most likely, of my friends, to become famous. If she did, she would probably become a famous singer. She goes to SCAPA where she majors in voice, plus she plays guitar as well. Ashley also sings in our youth group band at church and has a very smooth, but unique voice different than that of the average singer. She may not be the most outgoing of people, but does well performing on stage. Another aspect that makes me see her as most likely to become famous is her ability to come back after making a mistake either in her speech or singing and being able to laugh at her mistakes, a quality I see as very important in for a someone who is going to be in the spotlight.

Prompt One: What would you do if you were King/Queen of the World?

Prompt two: Discuss your ideal government, use examples and try to relate it to the real world.

Prompt three: Discuss your favorite historical leader.  Explain why he/she is your favorite. Name qualities that make him/her a good leader.

My favorite leader of all time is Julius Caesar. This is because Caesar was smart, talented and courageous. He was also a brilliant politician who was able to manipulate the Senate to obey his wishes. Caesar conquered the Gauls and wrote about his adventures. These stories helped Caesar gain the support of the people of Rome.  Julius Caesar was said to be extremely intelligent and a good orator. When Caesar made speeches people listened. People were inspired by Caesar to do great things. Another thing that makes Caesar impressive, to me, is the fact that other famous commanders such as Napoleon have studied his work and thought.   The thing that I admire most about Caesar is the fact that he was able to seize power and run an empire, despite the wishes of a corrupt Senate. Brilliant leaders such as Sulla and Marius were destroyed by the Senate, but Caesar prevailed and went on to lead the new empire into a new era. Unfortunately Caesar was assassinated by the very senators he tried to control. However his legend lives on. Caesar was a brilliant bold and daring man who changed the very core of one of the greatest civilizations of all time.

For the Love and Hate of Television - Isabel Jenkins

I like some TV shows. But I don't like TV.

My misfortune of two little brothers results in the TV constantly staying on. I hate having to come home and attempt to do homework to the faint murmur of Disney Channel throughout the night. I don't watch many of their shows directly, but they at least sound like a waste of time.

But I would be lying if I said I didn't spend much time viewing television shows. There are shows out there that are clever, intelligent, moving, capable of teaching valuable lessons (such as how not to live your life), and so on. The beauty of American television is that, with hundreds of channels each showing hundreds of programs, there is always something to at least mildly entertain. However, TV is addicting. Just like the internet, it can effortlessly grasp the attention of whoever is willing, resulting in countless hours spent in ignorance of reality. I know that I could easily be a prime suspect of monotonous channel-flipping, so I tend to watch most of my shows online. Sure, I could easily survive without a television...so long as I still had internet access.

You’re evacuating your house because of an emergency, and you only have time to grab three things from your room. What would you take and why?

A millionaire dies, and leaves his fortune to a random person who his advisor will select. He chooses you, but he tells you there are conditions: You have only seven days to spend all the money before it disappears. Suddenly you have millions of dollars in your bank account and seven days to spend all of it. What do you do?

If you could only choose one place to live for the rest of your life, where would it be and why?

            If I could only live in one place for the rest of my life, I would choose to live in Atlanta, Georgia. I like Atlanta because it is a big city, but not too big, and it has several suburbs right outside the downtown area. I would love to raise kids here because the city has so many fun things to do, like Centennial Park and the Georgia Aquarium. I also like that it’s a good distance from Lexington but close enough that I could take weekend trips back to see family. I have always wanted to live in the south, and Georgia is my second-favorite SEC football team. I love the tradition and beauty in the south, and you can find that in Atlanta.
