Horray for Hollywood- Caroline Totty

Two films by Tim Burton I watched were Alice in Wonderland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They had some similarities such as Johnny Depp was a main actor in both of them. They also were both sort of obscure and fantasy like. They were filled with bright colors and fantasy worlds. In Alice in Wonderland it was the rabbit hole she fell through and in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory it was the magical room with all the candy trees and chocolate river and candy grass. However, there are obviously some differences such as plot, wardrobe, etc. Both these movies are based off books so he had to basically follow the plot in the book. In Charlie in the Chocolate factory there are some gray scenes such as when Charlie is with his family in their small excuse for a house, but in Alice in Wonderland there are basically no dreary dark scenes about Alice like that. It has a lot of color in the setting and wardrobe and props. That is a direct comparison of the two films. In my opinion, they are both very good and Tim Burton is a great director although he is a little different.
