American sniper-
A fantastic film, the kind that when it ended even though I was
at it with a lot of my friends, no one spoke there just wasn’t anything to say,
you were left speechless. The film had everything, intense actions scenes,
comedy, love, and tragedy. Knowing it’s based off a true story leaves you in awe.
The main character Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) is the deadliest sniper in American
history, through his eyes you see him achieve amazing accomplishments as he
kills hundreds of enemies all to protect his fellow soldiers. But as this is
shown you see the horrors of war, like when he has to watch a child is brutally
executed, kill a child who threatens the life of the men he is watching, and finally
watch his good friends die. But what the movie leaves you with more than
anything is not the horror that war itself is, but how the horrors stick with
you when you get home, Chris is always detached when he returns state side. He is
only able to finally cope with this by helping fellow soldiers who have been
hurt in Iraq, because to him this is a way to make up for the men he couldn’t save
while overseas. The movie ends with Chris getting in car with a disturbed
looking veteran he is going to try and help… this man ends up shooting Chris
and killing him. Showing that the things war does leave men horrible disturbed.
