Create Your Own Adventure - Emily Cashman

Do you prefer movies or books? Why?
What are your current plans for the future?
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose and why?

I’m going to address the first question in this blog post. Given the choice, I undoubtedly prefer books to movies. This doesn’t mean I don’t enjoying watching a movie on Netflix or going to see one with friends, but I would just rather spend a few hours getting lost in a book than watching any old movie. There is so much more detail captured in the pages of a book that 9 times out of 10 gets lost when it’s transferred on to the big screen. I can think of countless examples of books that I, personally, believe are better than their movie counterparts, but only a few where the movie is as good or slightly better than it’s respective book. An example that easily comes to mind is the Percy Jackson series by Rick something (I can’t remember his last name). While the books weren’t my favorite, they were at least 10x better that the movie. Its movies like these that remind me why I’d rather invest my time in reading a book instead of watching a movie.
