Brave Little Toasters-Noah Welch

When everyone in my household is away and no one is watching, my bookshelf comes to life. Books of all kinds open and characters clamber out of their portals. However while the heroes of the stories are released, so are the villains. Every night a vicious battle rages of good vs. evil (the neutral people spectate but our stories don’t really focus on them).

The weapons used are various and many, teeth and claws to futurist plasma cannons. There are the occasional nuclear devices and intergalactic missiles but in general both good and evil look down upon them. The only safe zone is atop the armoire in the abbey of Redwall. There, characters such as Benjamin Franklin and Edmond Dantes discuss political issues and seek to understand the world.

The worst war zones are the trenches atop the strange bed.  Scenes change immediately from the battles of Verdun to the forests of ancient Europe to planets in the vast and distant future.  War, terrible war rages on and neither side can win. Strangely as reinforcements arrive for one side the other is equally reinforced.  The battle is eternal, the wisdom indefinite, and the quest continues infinitely.
