Flying Turkeys- Caroline Totty
I enjoy Thanksgiving a lot. I like this holiday for several reasons. Mainly because my birthday is always right around this time, sometimes even on Thanksgiving, and lets face it, who doesn't love my birthday? Also the food is always very good. My family used to go to California every year because my grandparents on my mom's side have a house out there so we would spend Thanksgiving with that side of the family in a small town called Carmel. Unfortunately, they sold their house and now that whole side of them family goes down to their other house in the Bahamas, but since that is such a hassle to go out of the country and we already go there for Spring Break, we now usually go to Virginia to have Thanksgiving with my dad's side of the family. My aunt and uncle spend all day making food that is to die for and we eat a late Thanksgiving dinner and then fall asleep by the fire. My favorite Thanksgiving food is mash potatoes but stuffing is a close second. However, this year we decided to stay home for Thanksgiving mainly because my brother wanted to come home and see all his friends for the break. We went to Idle Hour Country Club for a late Thanksgiving lunch. I kind of wish we had done a home cooked meal but Idle Hour was fine. Overall Thanksgiving is usually a pretty solid holiday that I enjoy very much.
