My neighbor is Kate Sommer. Even though we are both in the Academy, this
is one of few classes that we’ve had together, and the first time, I think,
that we’ve really gotten to know each other. There are still so many things
that I don’t know about Kate, but here’s what I can tell you.
Kate is awesome because I can be really whiny about being tired and not
liking school and she just agrees with me. Kate and I really bond over
complaining about English assignments (sorry Mr. Logsdon). But even though
we’re complainy, Kate always makes me laugh about it. Kate and I also bonded
over how terrible our school pictures are. I like that I can just say, “ I hate
these, I look awful,” and she doesn’t say, “No, you don’t,” she just says, “I
understand, I look bad too.”
Kate will defend what she cares about, like the band being better than
the orchestra. Kate is honest about what she won’t do, like demanding that she
get the lights job because she does not
dance. But the best part about Kate is that she cares about people, and she
has a kind heart. Even though Kate and I don’t know each other super well, I
can tell that she would do anything for the important people in her life. And I’d
like to think she’d do a lot of stuff for me too.
Kate, thanks for being my awesome neighbor :)
