BOO- Anne Russell

While I do not fear death itself, because of the confidence I have in what is on the other side, I do fear a slow and painful or traumatic death, thanks to my love for scary movies.

Drowning is one that I find very scary because it's not immediate; you must first experience the burning sensation of your lungs being overtaken by water and while you are struggling under the same water that is killing you, you at some point come to the realization that you are going to die. That is a very vulnerable place to be.

But however terrible that may be, I would probably choose it over the horrible deaths portrayed in scary movies. To have some evil person (or creature of some sort) chase you, kidnap you, and make you suffer every last bit until you take your last breath, is terrifying. And to know that you are giving them satisfaction by your every fear-gripped move must make it that much worse.

The sense of helplessness is what really gets me. Just the realization that death is around the corner and you have no power to stop it. That must be one heck of a state.

Thinking of the family and friends that will be left to mourn is almost worse as well, it takes death to a whole new level.

But of course it's not worth living your whole life in fear because life composed of fear of death is hardly life at all!
