The American bipartisan system is quite ridiculous when compared to other modern governments. Most European countries have at least 5 major parties, while we in America pretend that there are only two sides to every issue and writhe around in our old-fashioned system. There really is a simple solution to this issue, and I'm genuinely surprised that it hasn't been though up yet. Or perhaps it has, and the bright mind was not willing to share. Anyways:
I propose that we rewrite the way in which we vote. The current system of voter anonymity and need of riches to win is outdated and best suited for the late 18th century. In order to reduce these nuisances, I propose that we change election day into a national holiday where everyone gets off work. Once everyone is off work, they can gather into large auditoriums staged across the country. A political debate between the main candidates of the top 100 or so parties would be streamed to all of these auditoriums. As we all know from the example set forth by our legislatures, the large amount of candidates getting together might actually solve some of the issues that they are arguing, which is another plus of this system. After the debate, each candidates name would be read and the audience's reaction to this would decide the vote. The audio from all the auditoriums would be spliced together and analyzed for boos, cheering and clapping. The candidate with the most positive response overall would be declared the winner. As you can see, this packs all the problems with our current system into a neat little box, and then kicks that box out the window. Plus, no campaign ads would be allowed, so widespread adoption of this method by the public will occur overnight, because no one likes political ads. No one.
