What is it good for-Kate Sommer

I believe that there is an appropriate time for war, but not the extent and frequency that America thinks there is. I'd like to say that there is a peaceful alternative for war where the countries can figure things out with out forcing people to give there lives in cruel and vicious battle, but there's not. As we know some these groups, such as Al Qaeda, don't respond to peaceful attempts. They only respond to and via violence. Other times war is decided based on what the American people want. For example, if we didn't go to war after the 9/11 attacks there would probably be even more disapproval of the government based just on the time and situation of the nation. Sadly there are some people that only react to violence and there are some situations that will only change when violence is brought into play. While I wish there was a peaceful alternative to war, sometimes there just isn't based on the people we're against and the situation we're in.
