Changes- Caroline Totty

Something that bothers me a lot, especially in high school, is FOMO or fear of missing out. What it is is just that, fear of missing out and almost everyone falls victim to it. People can't stand to go out of town or have something else to do in fear of missing a party or a tailgate or a concert. It really bothers me because what people don't realize is the social aspect of high school is sort of irrelevant. Once you get to college nobody is going to remember if you didn't go to that one party because you had a soccer game or missed that one UK game because you were on a family vacation. I realize in the moment it may seem like you're missing the best party of your life, but I promise you it's high school and it is most definitely not the best party of your life. A solution to the issue of FOMO would be if everyone could see into the future and realize how much it won't matter in four years or so. Hopefully, then people wouldn't freak out every time they missed a social event. So that is my very simple solution to FOMO, make a machine that lets everyone see their future.
