For the love and hate of television- Scott Street
I believe that it is an absolute disgrace that the Emmy's and other celebrity-centered events receive as much publicity as they do in general, let alone that they receive far more attention than important events such as the Nobel Prizes. Now, I'm not going to come out and bash television, because I do watch quite a bit of it, but I feel like it is still really bad that the Emmy's receive so much attention and the Nobel Prizes receive little to none. It is a good indicator of where our society is heading to: blatant ignorance. If the people in our society care more about television than important life happenings, then the future is very grim for advance. However, I am not worried about the future because there are still many sane people that actually care about the important events, but at the rate we are going at, a growing number of the population will be encompassed by awards shows such as the Emmy's and Grammy's and far less than it already was by the Nobel Prizes.
